Since 1999, CNS has been approved as a participant in the New York State Universal Pre-kindergarten (UPK) Program through the Ithaca City School District (ICSD).
Our teachers have access to many of the same tools, including the curriculum, as the ICSD pre-school teachers and regularly share professional development opportunities with them. Early intervention services are accessible; our UPK children are screened at age four and follow all ICSD assessments through-out the school year.
At CNS, UPK participation is not prioritized by financial need. If your child resides in the ICSD, will be age four by December 1 of the enrollment year, and is enrolled for five days, then he or she is eligible to participate in the UPK program.
